The influence of South Korea on Gen Z is both all-pervasive and impossible to ignore. K-fever courses through every facet of urban culture — from music and skincare to the way we eat and drink. Korean bar culture, once niche, now stands shoulder to shoulder with the world’s best, its top addresses in Seoul and its spirit carried abroad through collaborations and appearances all over the world.
But the truth is, not everyone can go to Seoul to enjoy the best Korean Fried Chicken or cocktail using the finest Korean ingredients but the Jigger group in Singapore has a solution.
Enter B.O.P., Singapore’s first Korean cocktail dining-bar conceptualised by award-winning bartender Uno Jang. This is nothing short of Uno’s magnum opus and a truly deep and personal expression of Korean hospitality. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Uno wears many feathers in his cap as Creative Director of Jigger & Pony Group, including most recently being awarded the Altos Bartender’s Bartender Award by The World’s 50 Best Bars. A bartender of serious pedigree, Uno carries the weight of legacy and leadership, into B.O.P., short for Bartenders of Pony.
With Uno as the Creative Director, B.O.P seeks to bring the joy and warmth of Korean hospitality and bar culture to Singapore’s shores – a country that Uno himself has called home for several years. B.O.P. is a culmination of Uno’s bartending story, his Korean roots, and his life in Singapore – told through craft cocktails, cuisine, and above all community – a word not taken lightly in Korean culture.
For Uno, this marks a deeply personal milestone. “I feel like Jennie from BLACKPINK sometimes,” he laughs. “I’m still part of the group, but this is like my debut solo album.” An apt analogy if there ever was one. As one of the foremost voices in Asia’s dynamic cocktail landscape, Uno has long been celebrated for his precision, humility and warmth — qualities that now make up the playbook at B.O.P. “At B.O.P., I wanted to bring more of myself, be it my home, memories, experience and even my journey, into my cocktails. Each drink represents a piece of who I am and where I come from, and that’s really what B.O.P. is about. It’s about craft meeting comfort, and blending technique with soul so every drink feels both familiar and new.”
At B.O.P., cocktails speak in bold, expressive tones with reflective undertones. They are rooted in Korean flavours and the quiet rituals of daily life, from communal feasts to fleeting, ordinary moments, with each carrying its own rhythm and depth, reflecting Uno’s journey between Korea and Singapore.
The food programme at B.O.P has been crafted in collaboration with Chef Jason Oh (Oh Jun Tak), an alumnus of Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars, founder of tak Seoul and former chef-owner of Seoul’s Namyeong Chicken. The collaboration stems from a decade-long friendship rooted in mutual respect and shared pride in Korean culture.
“I first met Jason 10 years ago during my guest shift in Hong Kong,” Uno recalls. “I was nervous, but he came up to encourage me and we bonded instantly. As the years went on, we kept in touch and watched each other grow, and when the idea for B.O.P. came about, I knew he was the one to help bring it to life.”
Together, Uno and Jason bridge the worlds of cocktail and cuisine, showcasing the warmth, humour, and harmony that define Korean hospitality. This collaboration is effectively a healthy dialogue between bar and kitchen, precision and whimsy, nostalgia and progress. Both approach their craft with the same clarity and sense of purpose, creating food and drinks that are heartfelt, flavourful, unpretentious, and above all – intentional.

While firmly rooted in technique, B.O.P. feels anything but uptight. It speaks to a new generation of drinkers — those in their twenties and thirties who connect instinctively with Korean culture, value authenticity over performance, and seek out places that feel effortless yet stylish. It’s a space where comfort meets creativity, where tradition wears kicks, and where every detail — from the playlist to the plating — reflects a contemporary Seoul sensibility reimagined for the world and ready to take it on.
