It’s been a year of challenges for bars all over the world. For some, it has been harder than it looks and we have nothing but the utmost respect for their struggle.
In what has been the most tumultuous year in our generation’s existence, there have been a few green shoots, and for that, we are thankful.
While some of our favourite bars were compelled to pull down their shutters, others took a leap of faith and opened their doors. There are no right answers and the room will always be divided on whether this is a good time to celebrate the little wins, but in this very moment, we have decided to stand with our brothers and sisters and care as deeply about those who have lost as those who have won.
After the year we’ve had, we have taken a stand to be there as much for those who are hurting as we are for those who are not – because caring for one, does not mean caring less for the other.
As the year comes to an end, we want to applaud your courage – we have all scaled a mountain this year and it doesn’t matter if we got to the top. We have lost some along the way but the journey was sweet for as long as we walked hand in hand and we will only look back at those moments fondly.
The uphill battle to survive isn’t over but we know that as long as we stick together as community, share each other’s pain, and take pride in each other’s little victories, we will see better days.
As a community, let’s continue to do our best to show up for each other and accept that in an imperfect world, nobody’s perfect.
We will love you all the same…and if you don’t show up, we’ll understand.
Salud!
